I LIKE RESEARCH.

I'm better at finding answers and sources than I am at fiction writing. *sadface* THAT'S NOT CREATIVE and I want more creativity.

I hope you don't mind me having commented on your journal several times with comments that are not particularly useful. I've been a bit flakey lately, and have been commenting on journals whenever I could think of things to say because I want to connect with people atm.

I enjoy reading what you write.

RESEARCH, OH GOD, WHY. Clearly for people who are not us.

Saw the thing on fuckyeahblood! Was delighted.

I need a research monkey. Alas, for this assignment I'm supposed to be demonstrating my research skills. THIS IS DIFFICULT AS I DON'T HAVE ANY. Usually I just ASK PEOPLE.

I love doing research but I'm clearly an oddball, something that people have been telling me quite frequently. Have you tried searching online databases? Google Scholar can be awesome, depending on what you're looking for.

Macs are expensive in general. Most people I know who have them got them with the student discount.

I shall have to bear that in mind as I believe you don't have to have a subscription to GS?

Even with the student discount that's fuckin' expensive though!

NO subscription for Google Scholar itself. Sometimes it links to things that are on websites that require subscriptions, though.

It is a very expensive computer. I can't really say much else, as I'm not fond of Apple anything, really. I even have a Zune instead of an iPod (I hate iTunes so, so much).

put the shits on me by including "horny" in a list of moods for me to pick from and now I am being fickle and don't want to work with him at all

Not work with him? Personally, I would check to see if my country's laws allowed me to nominate him for removal from the solar system. I hate that garbage.

I feel like research can be creative, but it's certainly a different kind of creative when you compare it to fiction. And, of course, some research is always going to be more interesting than others. For me I actually find that my commitment to the process depends more on what the final product will be (i.e., final project proposal vs. opinion paper) rather than the content of the actual sources being cited. Do you draw pictures to go with your sources? I've been told that this makes it easier. Not being a terribly visual person, I was skeptical at first, but I can see the value in "mapping" your sources.

While I am sure that I am kind, I'm not so sure about my personal scent. I certainly attempt to have decent hair, though.

My problem with the article is that I know roughly what I want to say, but I have no evidence to back up my assertions and I don't know where to look to find it.

I noticed that upon first reading of your proposal. That's not bad, though. In fact, most people would argue that forging a new branch of research is quite good, and I tend to agree with that assertion. I guess the key is to find articles that are as similar as possible to what you want to say, so that you can poke a hole in the collective body of what has come before and say, "okay so, none of these researchers said ANYTHING about this thing, therefore..."

If they were saying what you're saying, then that would be a bad (or, at least, boring) topic anyway.
