[For a moment, he offered a smirk before smiling widely.] Where's your sense of fun? [Though the 'fun' of it depended upon the circumstance, probably.]
[He frowned at the words.] That'd depend on what you're doing to begin with! [Of course, coming from this person of all people, he was being a little hypocritical.]
[ Oh well then, Aaron can recognize him as one of the versions he's met before. Otherwise he likely would have kept on walking past. But as is he pauses, giving Alfred a playful smile. ]
[Well here's someone he has some familiarity with. Alfred glanced over at Aaron upon hearing his voice, blinking curiously before allowing a bit of a smile to cross his own features as well.]
[The smile widened into a slight grin as Alfred fully turned towards Aaron's direction, with his hands in his pockets and his head oddly tilted to the side.]
Nah, don't think so. I think I can pretty much figure that out myself.
[Spengland has been in some kind of limbo for about six months now--neither here nor there in regards to having gone home or staying in HQ. But then again, he's used to spacing out for long periods of time, so he's not surprised when he wakes up to find dust in his hair. He simply brushes it away and peeks out the door into the hall.]
Ahh, that was a fantastic nap. Matthew... what's wrong? You look lost.
[A frown couldn't help but manifest itself in his expression. Mostly because this was weird from any England he was familiar with.] And I don't think it's anything y'can help with, really. Unless y'know the nearest exit here.
[He was newly returned to the HQ as well. He was confused and lost and.... generally unhappy to be back here. He had been having fun chasing the buffalo...]
[Though his younger self may be familiar with him- or some variant of himself, at least- this was the first time Alfred has met his child self. It felt oddly nostalgic, in a way.]
Um... hey? [He greeted after blinking a few times awkwardly.]
[The hug's accepted. Hugs are nice, and he does like hugs, and it's not like there's anything wrong with hugging a younger variant of him in this... very weird place.]
I'm guessing it has~! [Except, well, he's not sure if he's met his child self before.]

[Clearly, he was used to having it the other way around.]

[Grinning in a super-friendly sort of manner, he pats Alfred on the back.] Now then. Tell me what's wrong, and perhaps I can help..?
[ENGLAND ONLY WANTS TO BE HELPFUL TO YOU, AMERICA.]
