Rube comes into 202 for a bottle of water, and just to be visible for a little while, dammit. Big notice catches his eye. That wasn't there last time.

"So much for building a new utopia," he says to no one in particular.

The narration fears what she could accomplish with the special smile.

"No problem," he answers. "Breaks up the monotony of pulling souls out of already dead bodies."

"Which hopefully you've not been doing to much of?" she replies.

"Not since the storm, no, thankfully. Between you and me, I'm getting real tired of setting little kids on fire."

"Yes." Angua sighs. "You're very much not the only one. And we still didn't find out who got little Miho."

Rube rubs his hands around the water bottle.

"My money's still on that priest who 'found' her. Guy creeps me out, and I'm dead."

"I'm not a fan of him myself," she says. "But I can't say I am that creeped out by him, and my instincts are fairly reliable. Not to mention that he carries a slicing blade, and she was stabbed through."

"I don't think it was a sword that got her," he says softly. "Wound was too big."

"It was still a clean stabbing," she points out. "Some sort of polearm."

He nods.

"Could be, yeah. Place just gets weirder and weirder, don't it?"

"Weird? Not really. Murder and attempted murder? More like home every day."

"I was kinda referring to the methods than the outcome," he says with a chuckle. "Guns used to work pretty good; now we got people with axes and spears running around like it's the 15th century."

Angua frowns. "We only ever had one gonne at home. I hope we'll never see any more. I don't like them."

"Me, either. Can't say as I've ever seen a problem so bad that a gun ever made it better."

Angua's thoughtful for a second, thinking of Hellboy. "Can't say I'm happy with everyone's apparent obsession with them here, either."

Another chuckle.

"Got over mine real quick about the time I first got shot with one."
