Faye has curled up in 202 with an English-to-Chinese dictionary. It's old, it's battered and well-used, but it's helpful!

...When it isn't torn and stained beyond use, that is.

Either way, she's desperately trying to learn to read Chinese. Come help her out! ...Or mock her mercilessly. Whatever floats your boat.

Mock, mock, mock.

"What's this?"

From leaning in the doorway Chase.

"I'm trying to teach myself Chinese."

She isn't going to mention how hard it blows. No.

Chase snorts.

"That blows."

She sighs. "Yeah it does. Especially doing this by sight alone."

What the hell? Chinese characters as opposed to Roman letters?

Wesker comes in. He's managed to stuff his usual air of self-satisfaction deep into a corner of his psyche, and is moving like a worried human instead. He seems not to notice her for a moment, wrapped in his own concerns, and then glances over with a small smile and a startled look.

"Oh, hello, Faye."

"Hi, Albert," she says. She tilts her head at him. "Is something the matter?"

He shakes his head. "Nothing important. I'm letting superstition get to me." He settles down on the couch, looking down at the dictionary. "You look like you're having troubles yourself."

She tilts her head further as she looks at Wesker. "Are you sure you don't want to talk about it?"

Oh, Faye, you poor, poor, pathetic creature, getting caught in the fisherman's net.

And in comes wandering Pip, who looks about and then eyes the map on the wall, completely ignoring Faye.

For the time being.

He needs something to draw with, because the wall is severely lacking a map of The Shire.

Faye glances up and looks at the short man, then looks down at her book again.

"Do you know how to read Chinese?" she asks, face buried in her book again, scribbling notes in a notebook on her lap.

Pip blinks and peers over his shoulder, one eyebrow up.

"Chi-what?"

"It's a language. Chinese. It seems to be the predominant one around here." She tilts her head up and looks at the hobbit-she-doesn't-know-is-a-hobbit. "You're not from Earth, are you?"

He could use a dictionary himself.

"Hey there. You're the coffee lady, right?" Ichigo has made his way over from his own little spot in 202, the urge to understand what the hell he's reading having gotten the better of him. His clothing is more casual today, his massive sword gone.

"Can you read Chinese? I'm...a bit lost." He gestures at the book in his hand.

"I've been known as worse," she says, smiling up at him. "You're Ichigo?"

"And... no, I don't read Chinese," she says, holding up the dictionary so he can see what it is. "Trying to teach myself, though! And it is a royal pain in the ass."

He mutters several curses in Japanese, which is, as far as he is concerned, the language all this junk SHOULD be in. "Yeah, name's Ichigo. I was hopin' you could help me figure out what this book is about. My Chinese is limited...really limited." He holds up his novel, the cover, back, and spine too worn to read anything from. "This is either really erotic, or about the lives of fish. I've got no clue which."

She chuckles a little. "I ... can't help you, no. But I was given a name.." She digs into a pocket. "Biff! Biff may be able to help you."

It's a long time after Wesker's messed with Faye's brain. But Chris wanders into the room, looking agitated. He stands in the middle of the room, scratching his head. "Is it in here?" He looks under the cushions on one of the chairs (the one he usually sits in). "Nope, not there."

Hey Faye, doesn't his facial features sort of resemble Claire's? Maybe he's her brother. Doesn't hurt to ask who he is! And what he's looking for under all of the cushions in the room.

Faye glances up. "What are you looking for?" Her voice is quiet, her face still a little tearstained. But she's willing to help him look for whatever it is!

"...by the way, my name is Faye," she adds a few seconds later. She's a bit frazzled. Don't mind the barista.

Chris also looks up. And then he looks sympathetic. "You feeling okay there, lady? What happened?" He rubs his nose and drops the cushion he's holding. "Something happen?"

"Oh! Uh, Chris. Chris Redfield." There is an empty knife sheath on his left shoulder. Maybe that's what he's looking for? "Something that belongs to me went missing. I'm trying to find it, but so far? No dice." He sits down in the chair with a sigh.

"This has been a bad week."

"Oh! You're Claire's brother." She smiles a bit. "I'm a friend of hers," she says, raking her hair behind an ear.

"And--I just had a disturbing conversation. With.. a guy." She sighs a bit, shakily. Poor Faye, going from manipulative Wesker to hairtrigger Chris who hates Wesker.

"Well, what is it exactly? I'll help you look." She puts her book and notebook aside and stands, beginning to look around.

"Oh--" She says this offhandedly-- "There's some coffee made, if you want some." A barista's work is never done.
