This was interesting. If by "interesting", you meant "unnerving beyond all rational comprehension". Well, at least there weren't any zombies or leech monsters to deal with. And Jim wasn't screaming every five seconds about how much his life sucked. She hated that. It got annoying after the five hundredth time ( Read more... )

Not far off, amidst the ruins of a few crumbled buildings, a man in a trench coat spots her. His hood is up, his bandana covering most of his face. A massive backpack weighs him down, causing him to slouch.

"'Ello, stranga. Lookin' for anythin' in particula?"

Hmm? "Well well, this is interesting." Alyssa saunters up, notepad in one hand. She blinks a few times before setting pen to paper. "A living person that isn't a zombie. And I thought the city was too far gone."

She clears her throat once. "You have any guns on you, Mister...?"

"Zombie?" He chuckles, a deep laugh that comes from his belly. "Not quite, stranga." It's dark because of the clouds overhead, and his eyes glow very faintly, red and pink.

When she asks if he has any guns, he laughs again, harder and longer. Once he's done, he opens one side of his trench coat with a swish, revealing...well, guns. Tons of guns. Weapons of different size and shape. Rifles, handguns, weapons from far off lands and weapons that are barely legal in most parts of the world. After a moment, he closes his coat again.

"Why yes, stranga, I would say I've got a couple of guns on me. But the question is, can you afford 'em?"

Alyssa likes this guy. He's got enough ordinance to invade a small country! What she would have given for somebody other than that knucklehead Ryman to know what they were doing with a gun. Ah well. You roll with what you pikc up along the way. Rocket launcher or otherwise.

She grins wolfishly and starts writing down things on her notepad. "Oh, I think I can. I almost have a full paycheck from my last big scoop." She stops writing to nod once at the guy with the freaky glowing eyes and the large amount of guns and the trenchcoat. "Alyssa Ashcroft, Raccoon Weekly. And you are?"

In the twisted metal and just beyond the Merchant, HUNK watched the young woman in red from his post, his gas mask and helmet tucked tightly under his arm. His bright blue eyes watched her with slight curiousity; for some reason, she looked familiar, however HUNK couldn't put her in a recent situation he had been in.

The Survivor kept his distance, however, and kept up his silence. He was only out of the safety of the apartments to observe, and the only reason he would approach the woman was if she decided to reveal some part of herself to the mysterious Merchant.

Alyssa notices the man watching her from a while away. She's pretending she doesn't notice him at all while she talks to the Merchant. But every now and again, she glances over quickly in his direction. Why he looked familiar was beyond her. But judging from the gear under his arm, he knows how to fight.

And who knows? Maybe he's from her own neck of the woods. Which is why as soon as she finished talking to the Merchant, she began to head over in his direction. She holds her hands in the air. That's the universal sign for "I'm unarmed, so don't kill me."

HUNK peered up and gave the woman a slight nod of the head.

"Do not worry yourself too much; I'm not out here to kill anyone of the human kind." He licked back his short pieces of hair before moving away from his post. "I heard what you were talking about; let me guess, Raccoon City?"

HUNK hooked his TMP to the holster on his tactical vest and shook his head.

"If you're from there, then I know where I've seen you."

"Yeah. Raccoon." Alyssa's trying to be flippant about the whole thing. And it's working! How about that, huh? Zombies and mutants and shit, oh my! "The whole mess started when I was in a bar. Trying to finish up my work with a bunch of people nerby." She shrugs midly and flips to a blank page in her notepad.

"Oh? And where exactly did you see me, hmm? You weren't in the hospital with that ugly leech thing, were you?" She grits her teeth at the memory of the monster. "The damn thing used the air vents to hunt us down. I stepped into the elevator to avoid it and here I am."

"Great, huh?" Sarcasm ahoy!
