"Whacha buildin?"

Cause sometimes, he gets curious.

". . . I forget."

Jim stares at his little device, then pokes at one of the wires.

"I think this one was supposed to make toast. I know that one is powered by bananas."

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

"...do we have bananas?"

Jim is definitely getting a look.

"Mushroom Daddy brought some."

Pause.

"I could probably modify it to work on something easier to grow."

"...what are you doing?!"

Yeah, smeone doesn't like the mess. And she's sort of emotional so maybe that came off a little shrill.

"Working," is the only response she gets. That, and a wince.

It's a contained mess! Inna corner!

"You're not working, you're-- chaosing all over the floor. Boys," Paige huffs and comes over to inspect the corner-slop.

"I am so working!" Jim objects, pushing one of the intact machinations at Paige. "Look at that - battery recharger."

It'd help if Jim had any rechargeable batteries. But in the event that he gets any, he's totally ready!

All over, Aang seeks out Katara and Sokka.

But he finds neither, much as he was almost positive that Sokka was going to be in the Engineering room.

The Avatar peeks in, then beams a little as he spots Jim.

"Hey, Jim!" he waves cheerfully. Momo is, of course, accompanying Aang as usual -- and the lemur is looking at YOU, Jim.

"Oh, uh. Are you busy?"

Depends on what you mean by busy. Busy wallowing in the mire of his own worry, yes. Busy doing anything useful, not unless anyone wants to power the apartment on bananas.

Jim looks sideways at the lemur.

"Nah. Not really. How ya doing, Aang?"

He should talk to the kid, right? He's the only one of Katara's friends who hasn't threatened him yet.

"Ahh, I'm fine!" He comes in, looking at the odd ... thingy that Jim is working on. But it looks like fun! Aang's talent doesn't lie in engineering, though. Just, uh, being god-like for a little boy who wants to just be that: a little boy.

Momo? Momo hops over onto Jim's head again. Hey thar, how ya doin', Jimbo?

"I was kind of wondering if Katara came by. I haven't seen her since it rained." He frowns a little. He's sure Katara is fine, but. "But I wanted to have a chance to talk to you, anyway. If you're friends with Katara and Sokka, I wanted to have a better chance at getting to know you."

Aang has a bit of a misconception about Jim being in the same room as the Water Tribe siblings, but that can be easily fixed, surely!

"I'm friends with Katara, anyway."

"She talks about you a lot. Has she . . . has she said anything about me?"
