"What? No!" the Doctor sounded more than a little embarassed. For someone who was 900 years old, he could be a bit of a prude, it appeared.

Jayne snorted loudly, turning back to his cigar.

Irene just giggles. She's 19, and at that age where prudery is DUMB AND STUPID AND SHOULD BE STAMPED OUT AND REPLACED WITH ORGIES.

"Then I really wanna hear exactly what it is," Irene says, grinning. "'Cause something that sounds this much like sex is bound to be interesting."

"We were just talking about..." the Doctor gave her a look, "Fine. All right, that's what we were talking about."

In his mind, he began listing the ways in which he was cleverer than the humans around him, made him feel a bit better.

My hands go over Jayne's eyes as I stand behind him.

"Fueled on the sex drive. Shame, shame...care to take a guess who? although you probably know already. I've never been very sneaky."

I smirk.

A grin spread across Jayne's face, "Hey, there," he said, taking her wrists and pulling her down towards him, "Ain't seen you in a good long while."

"Well, I was sort of an insomniac for a few days and then I snapped out of it and I was making up for lost sleep."

"Well...that's all right, I guess," Jayne replied, "Best be gettin' yer beauty sleep or some such go se right? Not like ya need any of it."

Inara isn't really doing anything. She's wandering, looking for bits of metal that Kaylee might be able to use on the ship Mal has commissioned her to build, or just wandering trying to pass the time. There's so much of it here so little to do.

ooc: thought it was high time Inara ran into Jayne here. Decided I could use some of their banter and she does enjoy the doctor's company *glare* No Jayne not like that. not everything is about sex

"An' speakin' of sex..." Jayne offered up a decent-sized leer in Inara's direction, "Didn't know you was here."

Inara rolled her eyes at Jayne's comment. "I got here a few days ago." She's become fairly immune to his leers having dealt with them for so long.

Rose wanders up in enough time to overhear the latter half of the conversation, but waits for a break in it to interrupt.

"Talking about dancing again, are we, Doctor?"

"What? No, not with him," the Doctor said, looking a bit scandalized, "Just talking about why everyone seems to think I've never danced before. Nine hundred years and never...dancing! I think not."

"Maybe if you didn't act so scandalized by the idea of it." Rose says, with a shrug.

"Anyway, you're one to talk about snap judgments. What was all that in the hall the other day, about me and your friend Adam or whatever his name is? What's he, then? And why do you assume I'd even be interested in him that way?"

The Doctor looked down at Jayne, then motioned for Rose to follow him away from him.

"He's immortal," he said in a low voice to her, "Alive longer than I've been around, but, apparently, human. I met him a few regenerations ago in Ancient Egypt, had a temple built in his honor. Strangely enough, somebody set fire to it, burned out all of his wealth inside."
