Hamel is sitting in 202. Partially he's trying to figure out if he's hungry or not. Partially he's trying to figure out if maybe the work he did in the battle at the magog farm this time might mean that people don't hate him ( Read more... )

Methos heads down into 202 for a bottle of water and some food. Falling fifteen stories and being dead for an hour while your body heals can sure make a guy hungry.

He sees Hamel trying to gain enlightenment by staring into a can of chick peas and clears his throat politely.

"Hey, kid."

"Don't call me 'kid'."

Doesn't turn around yet.

"I call everyone kid, sooner or later. Don't take it personal."

Compared to him, virtually everyone here is a kid, after all. (The Doctor might get up to 'petulent teenager', if they ever meet.)

"You did good out there, Hamel. Stayed focused and in control. Saved a lot of lives."

"Ended a lot of them too," he answers quietly, "and then fucked around with what was left."

Then he turns, a cup of chicken ramen held triumphantly between his fingers while he barely holds onto the can of chickpeas with his pinkie and thumb.

"Food!"

Isn't deflection lovely?

BLINK.

"Wait, weren't you--"

And he bobbles up to her, all confusion and even a little bit of concern.

"What happened to your head? And, uh, the rest of you?"

See? That 'attempting to be nice' bit is really starting to work out for him. Or something.

Well, he sort of knew that.

"I meant about your head."

He points.

"I mean, I'd give you my hat but I kinda need it."

Angua is in the infirmary as well, having had stew and decided that men are incredibly confusing. But she's awak, despite the healing bones, and she's just watching Pandora work, unwilling to interrupt.

She doesn't notice the other woman for some time, especially as she's used to being stared at by everyone she meets back home... but she does, eventually, feel the gaze on her and thus turns to the woman in question.

"Hello," and there's something of a wince.

"Hi," she says, without reacting to the wince. "I've not seen you around before - did we bring you back?"

She nods.

"I was in the pit with the demons."

They're demons to her.

"I got into the large metal contraption with the blonde boy and we came here."
