Smallville Rambly (very rambly) Thoughts

Oct 12, 2009 22:19

So remember how I was gonna watch for the giggles and try to fancy myself a recapper?

Yeah. I got broken.

I did watch Metallo and Rabid. And I tried to laugh at them. But I just felt too dirty.

As so many of you think of Smallville as a bad ex, you'll get this.

Or not. I don't know. )

fic, smallville, ranting

I've often thought of fic as dumping the fiancee and keeping the ring.

What a great way of putting it. Agreed!

Please don't watch the next episode, it's worth mentioning that it's written by BQM and those are vomit-inducing. At best. I'd hate to see you go through that.

So sorry about the writing troubles, if you want some support, PM me :)

I think it's just taking time to truly get over this break-up. I think that, if I can resist watching tomorrow, I can get some more written. It's funny how the show that first inspired me to fic is killing all urge to write. I just need to stay strong and not watch the next episode. I'm going to be busking in Laguna Beach when it airs and I think I'm going to hand my wireless router off to my aunt before I leave. I'm going to have her hide it so I cannot watch after and can only write fic. No net, no way to watch. She may think I'm insane when I make her do this, but it's the only way.

Completely understand you, babes.

In my case, it was easier to dump the cheating (Cnoising) little shit by moving somewhere far away (outside the US) where the temptation to get back with him (watch) was completely removed. I still check up on him, though (TWoP & LJ) just to cackle at how bad things are going for him and his new bird!(Cnois)

This might help you. I spotted it on the TWoP Rabid thread:

"Hi, my name is Roy...and I'm a Chloe-holic. It's been seven days since my last fix. It was tough, but I managed to not watch the most recent episode. Sounds like I might've missed a minute or two of Chloe goodness--but that there was so much awfulness that it was still the right decision.

For those of you who are still hanging in there, I say--let go. It will get easier...."

...so you know that there are people out there who can totally relate. :)

I read that post and totally related as well. Even moving away would have no effect. I don't even have cable (and live in an area that's too hilly for antennas to watch). But I still find a way. It's like I'm internet-stalking my abusive ex to find a way to sleep with him and hate myself in the morning. Ugh. Gotta get out of this.

All this sad songs about the ex talk reminds me of when I used to poke fun at my sister for listening to "All Cried Out" by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam on loop after every break-up. Have I become that which I once mocked?

See, I was out Friday. It wasn't like it just appeared on TV. It was worse than that. I got home and tracked it down on the internet. I did this to myself. I keep saying because I didn't watch live, I have some kind of power. But no. I'm weak.

Must stay strong this Friday. I'm pretty and smart and loving and there are other shows out there for me. I'm too good for Smallville. I'll just keep repeating that.

You need to stop thinking you two just broke up mutually. He cheated on you, he cheated on you for a skanky office slut.

So keep that in mind when he comes back to you with the flowers and chocolates.

You need to show him that, you can do better then him, so maybe find a better show.

Another option could be, watch old episodes of SV during the new episode SV so you're with the guy when he adored you. I always thought it was better if the Core 4 Rewatch was during new episodes of SV, sort of like a group, get off it thing, but alas...

Anywho, going cold turkey does suck, but can be effective. My guess if you're stuck at home, buy a new DVD of a movie that just came out, have movie night with friends and family, do something where you're not stuck thinking about the good ole days.

That's my word of advice.

I have about six better shows than that philandering Cloiser. It's just going to take more time and the strength not to track down videos on the net. Can I get myself blocked from Quicksilverscreen's Smallville thread while still keeping its other threads open to me? Probably not.

Going to have to exercise that willpower I'm so (not) famous for.
