Seeing as how it's nearly next Friday, I thought I'd do the Friday Five from last Friday. :P

1. What is your favorite game?
When are you people going to learn that I can't ever pick a single favorite of anything? Uh ... I like Farkle, Skip-Bo, Storming the Castle, Pictionary (haven't played that in years), Taboo, 25 Words or Less, Pinochle.

Ooooh ...
(Hey - you said you wanted to practice your German! *lol*)

Ich hab' alles gut verstanden. :D Leider ist mein deutsch nicht so besonderes toll. :P (Which I'm sure you will see below.)

Apr in Wien wird vielleicht 13C sein - nicht heiss aber wir werden nicht frieren. ;-) Hoffentlich leichter rund der Stadt spazierengehen am 13C Wetter als 23C+.

Your family needs convincing: Iceland is freaking amazing! =) That reminds me ... I need to make progress on the travel logs.

I know!!! A friend of mine was there 2 years ago and also loved it. Alas, I was not able to convince them ... this time. Someday I'll get there!

Austria an Ireland sounds like a lovely alternative/compromise! And I'm sure that given how long it's been since you've been to Austria, it will be similar to visiting a new place :)

Looking forward to hearing your impressions of Vienna and Salzburg this time -- they are certainly some of the loveliest cities one could visit!

nor can I show the rest of my family the Salzkammergut/salt mines because both MiniPlu and Will get claustrophobic

I know this pain :P Although B did better than either of us ha expected in visiting the salt mines in Romania, so I've been thinking I might be able to coax him down some other hole in the future... Or at least get to visit the same hole when we eventually make it to Romania as a family. (Whatever L's particular brand of claustrophobia is, it doesn't seem to be triggered by enclosed spaces per se, and it's possible she's outgrown it since that time the Powder Tower in Prague traumatized her...)

And yay for at least one of the trips being not high tourist season.

I got him a small stamped- ( ... )

No idea. How big is Lowell (in terms of each graduating class)? Ours here is about 300 per class, although I think MiniPlu's is smaller, closer to 250. But I remember hearing about how the prom-dress-selling stores in our PA home region would keep track of each dress they sold, and which prom it was for - and our town's high schools had 500-750 kids per class. I do think they allowed same-dress-different-color, but I can't swear to it. Of course, these days they might be using social media like our school does, as well.

MiniPlu thinks I should take Two to the salt mines and reconvene with them after but it's usually a half-day tour, including driving time and seeing some pretty lake towns in the area. I'd feel bad separating for that long, when it's supposed to be a family vacation. And if they came along for the rest of it, it's kind of wasted money that they don't do the salt mine part.

About 700 at this point, I think?

But also, I didn't get the sense that people were getting their dresses at local stores -- everyone I heard about ordered their online, in some cases from other countries, so I don't think it would've been possible for the retailers to keep track.

I'd feel bad separating for that long, when it's supposed to be a family vacation.

Yeah, same. We've only done visits by consensus/majority, not splitting up, except when it was a health issue preventing someone from joining us, like when L hurt her foot or had her stomach bug. And it's definitely not the same without everyone there.
