Ok, so I'm not thrilled with the idea that, as the parent of an LGBT kid, and with LGBT friends, I might somehow be violating the new Russian-based ToS by posting about my life. However, I'm not convinced the Russian federation is going to find out and yell at me/throw me out, given how many accounts are out there. I have a permanent account, so

I'm in the middle of too many things to have the time I know will be needed to track down friends and transfer comms that I own and track down comms I want to keep membership in.

And I've been paying the Russians for years... another year to give it a chance to shake out it what I'm looking at.

I'm going to hope nothing goes majorly off the rails for a bit and we get a chance to see what's really going on...

I'm just going to let my account go to free at the end of this term, since I've switched between free and paid many times. I paid DW recently and probably will do so since they deserve my support.

I sure do miss how it was when brad was LJ. He hasn't accepted the new TOS either; I tried to leave a comment on one of his old posts and it's marked as screened, much like what ranunculus mentioned.

I've been using DW for backup only... the time may have come for me to give cross-posting from there another shot (I tried it years ago and found the extra steps annoying given that I have all the icons on LJ and was irritated by the wrong-colored userheads), because enough of my flist seems to have gone/be going DW only...

From what I read in the TOS Ii think the target really is "big" accounts with lots of users ... so I kind feel safe. I'm not jumping ship. I've got DW and sometimes I even remember to back up my LJ there but for now I'll solely be on LJ.

I think I'll stay here for now. Permanent account holder as well, and most of the few people still posting at all are still here. Have also added a few feeds thanks to having a permanent account, again. And a lot of icons I'd lose. I am considering importing the LJ to DW at some point, but that would require a premium paid account over there for at least the time of importing to move all the icons and I can't be bothered to pay for that right now when I still go there rater rarely.
