Although I don't need any baked fun stuff, I was sort of interested in making the cupcakes anyway, so I clicked. Cream cheese? Absolutely KILLS ME, worse than the non-alien-fairy ice cream! Oh well. I passed up cupcakes at work today because I had no clue what was in them and now I'm really glad I did!
Also I've been sort of but not really catching a cold all week. Perhaps your fate will be similar.
Yay for the offer on the house! Keeping fingers crossed for you guys!
Thank you for thinking of our Slytherin! :) The whole Potter event sounds like it could've been pretty cool if not for the crowds, so, it's a pity they don't do better crowd control or something.
Those pumpkin cupcakes sound awesome! I need to bookmark that recipe :)
I think I've just come down with O's cold. I hope you manage to beat yours off!
Incidentally, do you think L might like a Potter-related tshirt as part of her New Year's gift? I know it's ridiculously early to be thinking of stuff like that, but since I was seeing all these Potter items last weekend, I kept thinking of her. And if she *might* like a shirt, what size would she wear these days, in either juniors or regular women's sizes?
(Side note: for the cupcakes frosting recipe - I never bother with orange extract. And if you don't have a can of OJ concentrate on hand, you can do what I did this most recent go-around: I put in a couple tablespoons of regular OJ (you can buy an individual-size bottle if you don't keep the stuff on hand normally, or just juice an orange) and then the zest of an orange. Worked just as well.)
Congrats on the house offer! Glad to hear Jade's feeling better, too.
It really is pretty cool that there are still so many HP fans. Sometimes it blows me away when I think about how the kids who grew up along with the Trio (the ones who were 12 and 13 years old when the first few books were released) are adults now, a lot of them with kids of their own.

(And, btw, it's not like you couldn't make the cupcakes without icing. They're just more muffin-like that way.)
Still have an irritated pharynx this morning, but at least it's not worse.

I know! It's amazing how much time has passed.

Sounds like the HP fair was cool, even if it was crowded.
