i still wouldn't say that we're close but we're definitely closer than we have been. my dad seems to accept me for the person i've become & is actually interested in discussing the ideas i hold about life in general. my mom & brother often still treat me as if i'm a child & nothing has ever changed. it's a nice difference. sometimes it feels more as if we're friends than father & child but i appreciate that.

seems to have been so far so i'm quite pleased. & there doesn't seem to be any of that awkward step-mother bs, which is great for me. i'm certainly interested in having a new & interesting person in my life but i really am not in need of a new "parental-figure" at this stage in my life.
