hooray for my dad!
my dad is getting re-married! i know you don't really care, since you have no attachment to my father, but i'm happy & wanted to share the news!
she, who oddly enough also happens to be named sara, is really great. she's quite obie-esque in that she's intelligent, forward-thinking, & a good conversationalist (not one of those maladjusted types) - she is a librarian. the few opportunities that we've gotten to hang out, i've only wished that we could share more time together. & she's really helped my father out quite a lot. he's much happier than he has been in years & has really learned a lot about communication. it's helped us to be closer, which i think is awesome because i'm not very close to my family. i know, it's sad.
(note: when my parents got divorced in high school, i almost never saw my father despite him living on the same street. it's not like there was animosity between us, it was just awkward. so the fact that i feel as close as i do to him currently is very nice.)
& my father is a pretty awesome guy, too. so it's nice to get to know him better & to also have someone else totally sweet thrown into the bargain. not to mention, that's it's just nice to have them to be happy together.
