Book Recs (and one non-Rec)

Well, seeing as I've become something of a lazy fangirl recently (the fic muse, I believe, has taken an unsanctioned holiday) I'd thought I'd give myself a kick and post something. I've been reading quite a bit recently, and thought I'd share some recommendations.

Non-Fiction:

*runs for the brain bleach* I knew shouldn't have read that cut! xD

All the other books sound lovely and fantastic though, I must say. Particularly "The Frigates".

Perfectly awful, isn't it? XD I tend to wonder what the publisher's were thinking, but there's no accounting for taste I suppose...

The Frigates is certainly good; one of the best non-fiction I've read in a while. And from the fiction Nathan Peake is certainly worth a go - I've just finished reading the second one I found it just as engaging, if not moreso, than the first. If you like your intrigue, then I'd definitely say give it a try.

Oh, definitely not...

*g* Intrigue's all well and good, but I generally prefer to involve nasty modern or futuristic criminals, tbh. I like me my serial killers and high tech spies Although it does sound like a good time. ^_^

"The Pirate Devlin" seems like a really bad Harlequin Historical Romance, to me. There's the ignorance of having a jungle in West Africa, of course; and then there's slashy pirates.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

As daylight faded into bladed shadows, the jungle pulled him deeper into its crushing green.
Aiiiee! The hills are alive!
