Started a load of laundry. When I opened the cupboard to get the laundry soap, I noticed that my plant food had leak out because the bottle had tipped over. Had to clean it up. Grabbed a tea towel, and 4 cup measuring cup for water. Filled the cup, dunked the tea towel and wiped up one shelf. Rinsed the the towel in the measuring cup ( Read more... )

Did the weekly round of weeding and feeding all my potted plants. I got to my lime tree and was greeted with the fact that ants have set it up to their local aphid farm. Uh, no. Broke out the organic pesticide, sprayed the tree, including the trunk of it. Then fed the tree some really smelly plant food ( Read more... )

So, today I weeded out my potted veggie/herb plants. Fed all of them, including the lime tree, fig tree, lillipilly and rosemary shrubs. I trimmed some branches of the fig tree, so it will grow upward, rather than out ( Read more... )

Went to Bunnings and picked up some gardening supplies. Plant food (two varieties), two new thyme seedlings (my 6 yr old plant finally bit the big one) and a goodly sized catnip plant. Those three have been put in pots and properly watered and fed. We have sequestered the catnip plant in the cat enclosure to prevent it from getting mauled by Keito ( Read more... )

I think makers of household cleaning appliances (mops, vacuum cleaners etc) have got to get it thru their heads that not all people who are using these products are but 5'4" tall. Unfortunately it looks as if the patch on the pool might not be as good as I thought. It's not gushing water, but there is dampness on the ground where the leak is/was.
