I booted up my old Toshiba Tecra, a whopping 120 mhz Pentium, laptop, just to see if it still worked. Surprised when it did! It was like opening a time capsule. I brought it with to Australia, and had it for a while when I was still living in the US

Oh, how lovely. Even with the things tinged with sadness, it helps to look back and see the paths we've taken. Sometimes we live too much immersed in the just the world that is immediately around us, and look no further.

It's actually a pretty good number of people who haven't just vanished. There are many more who have been there for the good and bad, and are still there, than there are ones who skated once my 'purpose was served'.
