Cats are wonderful companions, and incredibly cute, but they live a long time (fifteen years, at least... some make it to twenty) and need much more attention than a hamster (plus they all have at least one annoying quirk) ...they're a pretty big responsibility. That said, if you think you can handle it, go to your local pet rescue and pick one. There's not enough people willing to take a homeless cat home...
She's Dido. She already came to me with that name, otherwise she would have been the victim of my weird naming sense... if you don't believe me, ask Brandy, Sherry, Vodka and Mimosa, my mice. XD

And she does sort of resemble my Pom--they have the same black-and-white face mask, except Pom is much fluffier. (Her full name, according to the roommates, is Pomegranate Fluffermuffin. -_-)

How I wish you could show us some pictures... Pom sounds really cute.
(My Dido is just Dido... though she is at risk of having her name absurdly elongated if ever I get bored with it. I've got a weird sense of humour when it comes to names... ^^U)
