Cats are strange creatures...

My cat has a fascination with all things stringy. No... rather, it’s an obsession.

A hair band? A piece of string? A stringed needle? One of those plastic/metal thingies they use to keep bread bags closed? A rubber band? The red string for easy openage of cracker packages? The string of yarn going from my knitting to the yarn ball? In her eyes, they’re all prey.

Now, this would be rather cute if she wasn’t such a firm believer in the philosophy of “I catch it, I eat it”. She once ate a chunk of a sock because there was a thread hanging loose, and she’s never left my pretty clothes with any kind of stringy decoration alone (she’s ruined four of my prettiest shirts already). I haven’t had to hospitalise her because of this (yet), but I once got a serious scare when I accidentally left my entire supply of rubber bands on the table overnight. The carnage was unbelievable... by morning there were bits and pieces of the corpses of what once were very healthy rubber bands all over the apartment. She was sick to the stomach the entire day. -_-U

Besides that, here’s a video of her chasing her second favourite prey: the cleaning rag/ruler/folded paper.
