In my own defence I've been on vacation and then have been thrown back into the job at work that sent me off the rails due to covering other people's vacations.

While it'd be grand to see you, don't come all that way as I'll only have time for a few drinks maybe in San Francisco and not much more in LA.

Another 2 weeks or so of vacation. On the plus side, getting a parking spot next to the office is a lot easier ;-)

I totally get the vacation thing. Most of our clients have been kind enough to send us vacation schedules and lists of on-call personnel so there's always someone we can get hold on if there's an emergency, but two of our biggest clients did not. Plus, another big client timed it so well that they sent the entire financial department on vacation at the same time. Just after they sent out all their invoices. And they do this every damn year. I've spent four weeks chasing people and getting yelled at.

At least it's my turn to go on vacation now. Yay!

Every year it drives me mad and I'm surprised by how stupid it is to all go away at the same time. Have a good vacation.
