Aha! So have you heard the latest from your ex-land? God Singh is moving out and mixed emotions are in the air. Some are joyous some are heart broken. Some are enjoying observing the rest.
Even I like receiving comments. ;) Don't we all? And I've been around for 3 years as well. Still feels nice :))
I have found that my more general yet serious posts receive fewer comments. Some slightly controversial topics receive more comments. Photos, humour and general life updates receive the most comments.
I concur. If I talk about thought-provoking deep stuff, the casual browser will ignore. The hurried one will skim through. The bored buddy would not bother as it probably will bore him/her further. However, there will some people who will leave profound comments and give a new perspective to the whole thing. Those few comments are also worth it.
I was in this 'phase' (:-P) for a while when I just entered LJ. But somehow i got out of the habit and many a time I don't even reply people who have left comments. Rude ne?
You are a Scorp! You are allowed to be rude. :p But no, sometimes the comments are not reply-worthy. I am not belittling the commenter here; commenters are my God, you see. It is just that if some one tells you “great post” all you can do is say “thank you” in three different languages. German, French, and English are the most popular ones on LJ-land. At other times, some ordinary posts lead to hugely fun conversations on the comments page. In fact, LJ scores over blogger only due to its comments and friends page features.
