I just saw the tail end of the ABC Christmas Special at Ford's Theatre. After all performer's names were pronounced multiple times by the disembodied announcer's voice, President Bush still thanked "Yo-land-a Adams, Jon "Cicada", and Oleevia Newton-John". It was pretty funny. Oddly, "Karina Smirnoff" he got right! But the most priceless moment ( Read more... )

At least 22 dead at Virgina Tech (here's one story); BookCrosser jarrett622's pregnant daughter was locked in her office during it, but is safe now. My heart aches for those students -- those who survived and those who didn't.

Update: 33 dead and 15 wounded at last count
