I love cookie dough!
Originally uploaded by Antof9. I decided I should bake some cookies for "my" firemen. On resqgeek's advice, I called and "my" crew is on duty until tomorrow morning, so it's safe to take these over tonight.

The ones in the round quiche dish are the high-altitude rejects. Who wants to help dispose of them?

Seriously, how good is chocolate chip cookie dough? *sigh*

8:30 PM update: I heart my firemen! I took 'em over and rang their doorbell (!), and about 5 guys, including the chief came to the door. I stammered out that they had been at my house last night for my carbon monoxide thing, and that I thought they might need some chocolate chip cookies. The first one to speak said, "thanks, but it's usually ice cream for CO and cookies for medical emergencies." I totally busted up laughing. The chief (possibly fearing I'd think they were rude) said, "ignore him -- he's just visiting. He's not part of our company (or engine or whatever word he used)."

They were so sweet -- 2 of them took a can each and immediately started eating! They were so nice and funny and sweet and appreciative that it made me happy all over. The chief even remembered my name and asked if Unk was bringing me diamonds back from Africa! He also asked if the detector had gone off again and I said no, but I was headed to Home Depot next for a new one, as promised.

And now I need to plug in the new detector!

All in all, a very good night (especially comparatively speaking), and a special thanks to you in my blogosphere for *being out there*. You all truly brought me comfort last night/this morning (even if you didn't comment -- I mean it!). Just knowing people are out there who care means a lot. Others have said that before, and now I know what they meant.

Oh, and I told them that I drive past them probably 20 times a week, and have always considered that my fire station. They all assured me emphatically that yes, indeed, it is.
