I blame myopicmeringue for this! She posted another linguistic brain teaser today, this British English/American English vocabulary quiz. Madness ensued, as everyone (on both sides of the pond) started discussing "corn". (I know -- who knew?)

onyerbike did some proper research on corn/grain/wheat/sweetcorn/maize, etc., but all I could think of all day was popcorn. So ( Read more... )

Oh. my. That looks great! I've never made cheese popcorn (I can't STAND that stuff that comes in the tin with the orange cheese powder) and I don't like preshredded cheese either. I miss my hot air popper. Microwave popcorn is not the same. Still good but not the same.

So do you add the melted butter at the same time as the cheese?

yup -- the goal is to try to evenly distribute the butter, cheese and salt :) Spinning the bowl as you do this is part of the fun!

I'm with you on the powdered orange stuff. Ick.
