I'm as corny as Kansas in August
I blame myopicmeringue for this! She posted another linguistic brain teaser today, this British English/American English vocabulary quiz. Madness ensued, as everyone (on both sides of the pond) started discussing "corn". (I know -- who knew?)
onyerbike did some proper research on corn/grain/wheat/sweetcorn/maize, etc., but all I could think of all day was popcorn. So I thought I'd contribute by doing my own kind of research. A fabulous way to waste some time, if you ask me.
The Best Popcorn

And I just realized that the brand of popper is Orville Reddenbacher (That's probably only amusing to the North Americans reading this)! Too funny. This is the popper I had to buy to replace the one my sister gave me at one of my bridal showers. It lasted about 10 years, and when it died, I complained about the shoddy workmanship of her gift :)

Note: melted butter on the right (I'm right-handed and this requires more finesse), grated cheese on the left -- requires less coordination. The Lowry's seasoned salt stands by at the ready.
