So yeah, the long awaited Paolini Space Opera has yet to see the light of day. He has promised it will be out any minute multiple times and has yet to deliver on that promise in any way, shape, or form

I rather doubt he's anywhere near finished. The man doesn't strike me as the sort to sit down and get things done. In all fairness if I had that many millions I'd hand most of it over to a professional and retire. He probably has a bunch of words in a file. So he can print it off every so often. See how nice and thick that stack of paper is. It's unlikely to be a proper story. He editor would likely have a fit if he tried to publish it.
More likely he just goes over every so often. A couple of times a week I'd guess. Rewrites bits here and there. Adds something new from whatever sci-fi or fantasy he's watched that week. Removes the few remaining good bits. You know how it is. Replace whatever unique and interesting characteristics any of his peeps have with something someone else did to be cool. If he's astonishingly lucky it might even work. It didn't once in the IC books. So no great hope there.
I doubt that, if it existed at all, will ever be published. As you mention above, Inheritance, and everything related (merchandise, movie included) has left him monies to live comfortably the rest of his years.
a fellow author who was an arrogant jerk to me. She answered with "Well some authors are like that unfortunately. Like what's his name, that guy who wrote Eragon."
I'm here for this tea.
Anyway, he must be writing. According to him, that's why he has that unfortunate rug on his face (Curious, is this a thing for fantasy authors to do? Grow Viking beards?). It's his book beard. I wonder what ritual he has until he gets published.
I'm sure he's all talk. Didn't he used to say he had tons of stories/plays/novels in progress in ever genre known to man? I think it was on one of his book tours. I wonder if he ever went on that long vacation he promised after the IC finished. I don't know. I'm rusty on my CP.
I think the Space Brick has been rejected at least once by now. It's been seven years since Inheritance came out and Pao used to release a new book about once every two and a half years until that point.
Honestly, I feel pretty bad for him. He still lives with his parents and sister, doesn't he? It must be a ton of pressure to keep up that cushy lifestyle the family's gotten used to. Does anyone else work or is it just Chris?
