Horrible news stories involving kids have of course always been upsetting but now that I have kids it's like 100x more intense. I suppose it forces me to imagine them in some similar situation and my stomach actually drops. It really is like having your heart outside your body and you have no say in the matter. What to say? I'm home with the babes most of the time. Having my mom here has been amazing because S is busy with work and needs actual sleep at night.
For a few weeks now (they are 8 weeks old) I feel like I have a more of a grip on things. I can anticipate and interpret their needs. I can handle a fussy baby for hours though if I'm tired it can ( Read more... ) -

I've officially given up on waxing. I did it for almost a year but despite mucho exfoliation I ended up with too many ingrown hairs. Plus it doesn't get super light and stop growing like I had heard. It just got softer.
Now I'm desperately trying to get my legs and crotch un-ingrown hairy do they look better. As ridiculous as it sounds I'm all ( Read more... ) -
maternity leave
It feels really weird to be preparing to leave work for a whole year. If you think about it, this is almost half of my waking life that I am about to walk away from. That is a big transition, on top of becoming a new mom, etc ( Read more... ) -

Not a great pic but you get the idea! 31 weeks with twins and yes pregnancy is all consuming.
I have been feeling great and we're all ready for these boys. (As ready as we can be.)
Things that surprised me about pregnancy:
- How I changed my mind/feeling about how I want to deliver
- How much the body changes don't bother me
