Martin Sheen must be very pleased that at least one of his sons, Emilio (and keeping the original family name too!) has turned out fine.
Re directors and the wonderful work of PKD, don't you get the feeling that they haven't read the books and understood what they were all about? If they don't get it, they should be turned into Ganymedian slime moulds rather than be let loose to make a film of said books.
