Yes indeed, especially since, as you mention, the "index of" search got more and more exploited by other websites/scams. Which, to a degree, was itself interesting to watch.
Since the Russian site offers the full link it's also still possible to stumble upon open directories. Very nice!

In the case of MP3s, you're also offered a range of different sampling bitrates, track lengths, remixes, etc. - all that file data being clearly visible from the outset.

I'm just wondering how long it'll last... ;o)
