I've just been nominated (by Peace Corps) for North Africa/the Middle East. Which, looking at the countries in which they operate, means Morocco or Jordan. My question for you is, can you recommend any good ethnographies

congrats on your nomination! i'm a nominee as well (TEFL,Eastern europe, mediterranean and Asia (EMA) region), soon to be invitee next week or soon after. I was just medically cleared last friday, so if you have questions go ahead and shoot!
i've been to morocco and its a beautiful country :) no ideas really on books, but you might ask your recruiter on "Peace Corps: the great adventure" which is something they published and is full of short volunteer stories. I think there is another one in there as well.

It's been around for some years, but I'd also recommend Paul Rabinow's "Reflections on Fieldwork in Morocco". Good luck!

Lucky you! I really wanted Eastern Europe or Central Asia as I have more experience with those areas.
I just got my medical papers in the mail today.
