Incidentally, here's a shot of Seema Antil, mentioned at the end of the article as an athlete charged with "doping" (not sure exactly what substance that entails).
I wouldn't call it the most useless piece of journalism.. I mean, hello? Britney Spears?.. but don't you think it reveals how some of these procedures expose a populace rather ignorant of gender designations?
Yes, I agree, definitely. I just found it a bit pointless - no explanation of what this gender testing entails, no explanation of what exactly they're 'implying' with the findings. Regardless, certainly something that I'm glad is being brought up :)
i agree with the people that commented above. it is a bad piece.
that being said, i think i know where the problem might be...
i know a girl who does wight lifting. she is very androgynous and very strong, you could almost say "abnormally" strong for a girl. so she can't be in a competition with girls, but she can't be in a competition with boys. so, her problem is that she can train, but....she can't be in a competition. it's a big deal for her because she is pretty good at it.
There was an article about a Canadian MtF who is a mountain biker and there was some controversy about a woman who placed second to her. This woman wore a shirt on the podium with "100% Pure Woman" on it.
