Thanksgiving

It's always a little overwhelming to meet a new, large group of people who all know each other well, so meeting the LionOak's family yesterday was a bit nerve wracking at first. I like the spice mix they use with the pumpkin, in fact last year I hunted down for pseudicide and along the way developed a real fondness for pumpkin hershey kisses. Basically chocolate (well vaguely resembling and with orange colouring) but with the pumpkin spice mix - it was quite yummy, different, but yummy.

Enjoy the rest of Thanksgiving :) Why do they call it Black Friday though?

Black Friday is the term that retail workers use for it. Believe me, if you've ever worked in retail in the US on that Friday, you'd understand.

(especially in a toy store. Any store that sells toys. *shudder*)

Stores open godsawful early, and I mean well before sunrise -- I've seen some with 4 AM opening times. There's always crowds of insane shoppers mobbed outside the stores well BEFORE opening, all wanting to get their greedy rude paws on whatever limited deals the store offers. And yes, I MEAN that "insane". I'm talking fist-fights over $60 Blu-Ray players, mob-scenes, women screaming because -- oh my god -- one grabbed a $4 t-shirt from the other's hands, etc etc.

Yeah. That's how the holy peace of Jesus' birthday is celebrated.
