Wow, this is complex and thoughtful, and I adore your determined Nyota and utterly Kirkish Jamie!

That was totally awesome! I really liked this Uhura and how she made mistakes about people but kept at it to correct them and I loved your Jaime and Gaila. I normally ship K/S but for a fic that's kind of pre-Spock/Uhura (which is a pairing I read VERY rarely) you managed that relationship in a way that appealed to me (with the condition that I also get all the universes where K/S is what happens) and I liked that Jaime and Spock were already friends before either got to know Uhura very well.

Thank you for reading despite your feelings about the pairing! I like multiple pairings, but I normally ship K/S too (hence my split rec list) and my other fics are all K/S. This was my first time writing Spuhura, I and was nervous I'd mess it up. I'm glad it came off genuine to you:)I had to keep the epic bromance, though, even if one was a girl...

Anyway, thank you for commenting. Comments make my day:)

This was really lovely. I particularly like the platonic relationship between Kirk and Spock - very believable! (I have a relationship like that)

Thank you:) Yeah, I think male-female platonic friendships are some of the most beautiful and under-written-in-pop-culture things ever. I'm glad it came off well to you.

Wow! Well done. I really like the story and that's saying a lot because I hated the portrayal of Kirk in the film - too cocky, too arrogant, too much of an asshole. You did a excellent job of adding redeeming qualities while still keeping girl!Kirk cocky and flippant. Good back story.

The twist of Spock and girl!Kirk of being best platonic friends was wonderful. (It was very pleasantly shocking that Kirk is gender swapped and she and Spock don't end up together. I agree with the statement that Kirk is not Spock's type.) I am honestly tickled by the idea of Kirk helping to get Spock and Uhura together. I wouldn't mind seeing a few scenes from those moments.

Thanks for reading!!I don't feel like I added redeeming qualities as much as drew them out and highlighted them (he's a pretty complex guy), but to each their own. I'm glad your dislike of Kirk didn't stop you from enjoying the fic:)

Yeah, really close platonic friendships between men and women are something I see alot i real life, but not enough in fiction. I actually like both K/S and S/U, but I wanted to try my hand at writing Spock/Uhura and I don't think K/S would work at all in this particular universe. I will write more in this universe, when RL slows down. Thanks again for commenting!
