Haha I wasn't sure if it would be taken well by people. I'm so glad there are actually other Hakuouki yaoi fanshippers out there, for any pairing. And I'm amazed I managed to convince anyone of anything in this story @.@

Haha there is a continuation in the works (20000+ words in 2 days...now if only I'd done this during Nano *sigh*), and yes one of the parts is AmaHei. I hope to get it all hashed out soon!

I was practically blown away by actually reading yaoi Haku and GOOD written one on top of that. It's hard nowadays to look for anything yaoi and not find just a quick PWP (partly horrible written on top of that) u.u

Glad to read that there IS a continuation :3 I hate it when I find good works and then they are dropped or simply discontinued without any reason given and there is so much hinted at and soooooooo much to tell left :3

Hehehe, I'm 'blown away' that there are other people apparently 'as crazy as I' and my friend, who see potential that is NOT someone x Chizuru (whom I sadly hold no love for, but you actually wrote her in a way I could enjoy her and not wish her SOMEWHERE ELSE).

The amount of work you must have poured over this astounded me! I adored the way you portrayed the characters. It was... gosh, it was magical, to the point of making me re-read some parts again and again. I especially bow down before you for how you presented an oni's perspective of life/love/companionship and death.

I don't think that I'll ever come across to a Hakuouki fic where Kazama is characterized like this magnificiently.

As a fellow writer who tries to get courage to write on Hakuouki, I envied you and this fic. I wish I had half of the characterization you have here in my own attempted fics.

I salute your talent and craft and I hope to read more from you soon. This goes to Memories to be chresished time after time.

Truthfully I wasn't sure if the people who first made Hakuouki meant for the oni to be as I portrayed them here - immortal, super-speed, super-strength, etc. Having taken such liberties, however, I strove to portray Kazama's struggle with his body's choice of bonding partner as something not undertaken lightly in the least.

>.<;;; I-I really wasn't thinking of "What's the Kazama thing to do in this situation?" - he wrote himself, mostly. As did the other characters - their generosity, their courage, their passion in this era. I hoped to show all of what I love best about Hakuouki here. :D

This was good! A bit of historical mistakes (concerning terminology and realies) here and there, but nothing that would make me tear at my hair and send me into a fit of rage (or amok, to use your words ;) ). And a bit of out of characterness - some of the Shinsengumi were, but also nothing that would make me bang my head and smash things. You also repeated yourself once or twice, but I'm doing the same thing in my fics, so I'm not going to be a hypocrite.

I am a HijiKaza shipper, but up untill now I have never read a good fic about them. I'm glad to finally see one. You made my day with it! I hope to read more of this pairing from you in the future! ^^

I have to say usually I'm a stickler for canon, timelines, and historical accuracy. In this case, however (being in writer's block for so long) I figured I shouldn't worry about that right now, just work on letting the story flow. I moved up the timeline some (when Chizuru shows up, when the oni start attacking) but I hope the main events, even if they're not placed in the right months, remain somewhat true to the series timeline.

Yeah I guess I did say 'bond' about a bazillion times. The point finally got across that Hijikata haunts Kazama's every hour, sleeping or awake, eh?

Haha I may or may not be doing more HijiKaza (or vice versa). After this fic is all churned out I expect I'll be pretty burnt out of Hakuouki ideas, though...

Well, I stumbled upon this little jewel almost by chance and I absolutely loved it, from the first word to the very end. Your writing is very accurate and smooth, and the effort you put into characterizing the oni is astonishing. I read it…I lost count, I think ten times or so. And I want more D
