Friday update, whee!

Um, I've been delinquent with them. But no more! Am determined to return to normal discipline of--something. If it can't be "job-having," at least it can be Friday-updating.

Oh what what what have I been doing this week:

Tea units: 46? 302? must keep better track, idk
Pastry/chocolate units: 6.5
Procrastination ( Read more... )

challenges, design, writing, wip, schmoop bingo, perving on vulcans

ooooooh schmoop bingo! Where might one find such cards? Not that I've made any headway on my kink bingo card, but schmoop is a bit more my speed as well...

Schmoop, hmm. I think the term comes from a Seinfeld episode, where he and his girlfriend are disgustingly romantic and call each other "Schmoopy," but I could be totally making that up. Maybe comparable to the concept of "fluff?" Although the stories don't have to be fluffy, just revolve around the schmoop tropes on the bingo card.

I have a general schmoop tendency anyway, so this is right up my alley. Little green half-Vulcan babies bweee hee hee! (Um, I mean, [insert dignified response here].)

Zombie Pike is irresistible! Unfortunately after he seduces you he wants to eat your brains. It's awkward.

My brain is filled with schmoop now. First kisses! Awkward coffee shop moments! LITTLE GREEN BABIES WITH POINTY EARS O.O!

Off his face!Spock needs to call me!

(Now I'm reading the card and imagining how each prompt could be filled with Off his face!Spock. Camping with Spock, off his face! Looking at stars! Dragging him out of the coffee shop because he won't stop smelling everything! Eee, hee hee!)

Following on from that... getting home to realise Spock has cleared out your fridge with a serious case of the munchies.

I'll be sure to slip your details deeply into Spock's back pocket.

Yaaay, Friday Update! Yay, unfailiness and victory over creative entropy! *\o/* And omg, this is the first I've heard of schmoop_bingo. I am tempted! But although I'm generally something of a schmoopmonger, for some reason when I see prompts like this I have a perverse urge to write them in the most evil and non-schmoopy way possible...

I do have an hc_bingo card and a line that looks pretty doable without danger of drawing too much fail-wank down upon myself so I may just stick with that.

Forces of entropy I will defeat you! Just as soon as I finish checking my friends list, hah. :) I'm eager to get started on some schmoop, although I have other more epic epics stacked up in the queue--I'll probably end up writing some spontaneous things as breaks from the longer pieces. I agree about those perverse urges--I hate pure fluff and all its cliches, yet my instincts are always toward romance, lots of emotion, and happy endings. I imagine I'll be writing some kind of hybrid of schmoop and porn! And I'll definitely be looking for nontraditional ways to use the prompts. I'm kind of excited--we shall see!
