I. I'm four minutes into "The Western Air Temple," and I can't resist posting--how did I forget how good this show was during my breaks from it? How beautifully it handled story-telling in general? I may have to get the DVDs and rewatch the whole damn thing. Despite all the other things I want to watch

That's actually one of the few books of my own I brought with me to Bryn Mawr (I would've brought more, but I didn't think I'd have time to read them). I've reread it about a gazillion times, and I recognize the flaws and the boring bits, but for some reason, I'm still terribly fond of it. So yes, give it a try. :)

Once I've gotten some of the other stuff I plan to read out of the way, I'll probably start on the Old Kingdom trilogy again. :)

III. Bawww Shinbashi's feelings for her were probably the most genuine romantic feelings I've run across in the manga so far. I adored that he seemed to recognize aspects of her personality even from afar, and love them; he thought she was cute, but he also understood her intuitively and truly liked everything about her, even the stuff that most people would consider weird or off-putting. And I have this great image of him as her submissive boyfriend-chan who totally adores her and supports her while she works through her issues, often using super kinky sex to do so. 8)
And I am so pwned by his dream form. I wondered at first why it was a cellphone wtf, but then I realized that it was because his cellphone was the way he got closest to Kureha and helped her the most. OTP.
IV. What little of Sabriel I do recall mostly centers around the characters being really interesting, so...! I am kind of looking forward to getting ( ... )

...the sad thing is, Sou is popular. He's like Edward Cullen with less stalking but added raep and chauvinism.
I kind of ship Mashiro/Kureha--at least more than Sou/Mashiro--but I don't really want them staying together (I mean, I know they don't, but even if I didn't). They're useful to each other's development--his relationship with Kureha helps Mashiro feel more capable and actually start examining his gender issues, and her relationship with Mashiro helps Kureha start overcoming her fear of men and confronting her issues. The fact that there are things driving them apart means that I don't want them staying together, but it also makes the relationship interesting.
...Unlike Sou/Mashiro, which is just "me man, you woman, me randomly in love with you, you randomly in love with me, I MAKE YOU FUCK ME NOW."
