So I have left sane_ichiruki because it failed to live up to its name. Instead of rehashing the retarded arguments they were making for OMG ICHIRUKI IS CANON, I will present a list of canon and uncanon pairings in Bleach, with help from autophanous. This is the definitive work. Some pairings may later be added, but none of the pairings in here can ever be questioned. They

...and what is this about Isane/Yumichika. :| I'd heard about Yumichika/Soi Fong (which neatly completes the denying-canon circle of Ichigo/Rukia, Ishida/Orihime, Renji/Tatsuki, Ikkaku/Nemu, and Urahara/Yoruichi) but never Isane/Yumichika wtf

I read that at first as "ikkaku/yumichika" and thought we might have to have a cagematch.

I noticed that Ichigo/Orihime made it to neither of the lists, which was really the crux of the matter: I do NOT see more IchiHime hints than IchiRuki hints.

Arguably, nothing is canon until it is explicitly stated, which is 100% honestly true for Kaien/Lady Shiba, Byakuya/Hisana and the like. However, 'canon' was not what we were discussing in sane_ichiruki but 'hints' or even 'anvils' as a_white_rain kindly mentioned.

Indeed, several others have connections to Ichigo: Zangetsu (which was written here), Hollow Ichigo, Urahara as the person who Ichigo admits to training him, his family, Chad... It is not true that Rukia is THE only one. However, we happened to be comparing Rukia with Orihime, which is why we emphasised on the connection. If Ichigo only connected with Rukia that would be sad, and Bleach wouldn't be as fun anymore.

It is regrettable you got such ideas. I really wish that you had discussed this: it is what sane_ichiruki tries to do. If it happens that it needs work in this aspect, it would be nice if you could raise this directly.

You'll also notice that I was deliberately not addressing the matter seriously in this post, so, um, you come off as kind of a dumbass for attempting to do so now.

But since you insist: I encounter the idea that "more important relationship = more romantic relationship" and "equal partnership = better and/or more canon romance" repeatedly in fandom, and I was expecting that a place that calls itself "sane" would be relatively free of such fallacies. To see them brought up as major arguments for Why IchiRuki Will Be Canon (and honestly, that seemed to be what was being discussed, given that a_white_rain was explicitly giving reasons why she believed IchiHime would be canon, not why it was the better pairing) was kind of disappointing.

I'm just saying, the place to attempt a serious discussion of pairings is not in a post that is obviously a joke.

And people leave communities all the time. It's not like I was contributing anything in particular there.
