“Oh, they’ll pay,” Fred grinned with just a hint of wicked mischief as he tossed a small box of charmed body paint to his brother, and put the basket of fruits he’d found at the market down on the counter. “I picked the most colourful I could find,” he announced proudly, “and there should be enough to last us through the day.”

He checked his clock and frowned. They were taking their right sweet time in showing up, that was for sure, though he guessed, he had never been one to show up eager and far too early for any sort of punishment either. “If they don’t show up soon, he’ll get no percentages, just his name mentioned on the box.”

James was not looking forward to this, and not a little because he had no clue what the twins were planning. He didn't think they'd actually call the authorities--there were authorities in Annwn?--but he was quite sure they'd come up with something horribly appropriate ( ... )

Cedric wasn't what someone could cal happy when he got James letter. Something about the owl hadn't added up to Cedric. Why would James have to talk to him and why, most of all, at the WWW Redux building of all places? But Cedric went there anyway.

It's not like he was avoiding James, of course. James and he had a good old time drunk. The graffiti from the bomb they had set off had been washed off and there was no sign it had ever been there. Maybe James had came to his senses when he sobered up and washed it off before anyone saw.

Cedric doubted that as he stopped outside the shop and knocked.

George ushered Cedric into the dreaded back room of doom before he ushered James and Cedric into chairs, then sat on the edge of the desk and looked over at his erstwhile brother. This was going to be fun and he wanted to give Fred an ear splitting grin. Instead, he kept his features schooled and looked at the two perpetrators of what George liked to call the graffiti bomb on the side of the building event. Okay, with the news that he and Katie were...you know, he wasn't feeling very creative ( ... )

Everything was set. Everything was ready. If Fred had to be completely honest it had been ready for months, but now the time was right too, and that’s really what mattered. The clowns were ready, and the fruitbasket with the fruits that was connected to the charmed body paint also ready. A smirk appeared on his lips, a smirk that turned into a grin at the thought of Cedric’s and James’ reactions to the colour changes. It still remained to be seen, of course, but, well… He reached out, longing to test it for real, though withdrew his hand when he realized that spoiling the surprise before there were people in the store would be silly.

He cast a last glance over the shop, checking that everything really was ready. The aisles were clearly marked, with the edibles in safe distances from the consuming items, the WonderWitch aisle was shining brightly in its girly colours, complete with glitter and everything that entailed. The ageline around the WantonWitch safely in place and the items kept outside reach and sight of any underage wizards ( ... )

Katie yawned and rolled over in her warm bed. She glanced at the clock and closed her eyes and groaned. It took all her willpower to get herself out of bed this morning. Bludger huffed when she accidentally stepped on him as she clamored out of bed. Being pregnant was exhausting and she didn't think it was going to get any easier ( ... )

Lying in the bed she shared with Oliver, Alicia looked up into the clear blue sky above her, through the skylight, when she woke up. She felt as if she had just woken from a dream. A good dream, but a dream nonetheless. Only… it hadn’t been a dream, and the Healer’s words were still ringing in her ears. It didn’t make sense, even less so the calculations. Carefully she tried to feel how she was doing, focusing on her stomach, but nope; there was no nausea at all. That didn’t make sense either, because… wasn’t that what pregnant women always talked about? How they couldn’t keep anything down, or how morning sickness pretty much was there all day, all the time ( ... )

Katie was staring at the wall across from her lost in thought and sipping on her cold water; so she didn't notice when Aliica had come up next to her. She started, sloshing some of her water over her hand. Her hormones had her on edge and she hated feeling like a watering pot.

Her friend's concern touched her and Katie felt a lump form in her throat and she tried desperately to push it down. She gave Alicia a watery smile.

"I'm fine," she said. "Just tired." Alicia looked great. She had a lovely glow about her. "How are you?"

Alicia winced when she saw how Katie startled and sloshed her water. Her attention had been brought to her friend’s hands for just a moment, though long enough for her to notice the bright ring on her finger, making her wonder just how long it had really been since they had last seen each other. She felt bad that she hadn’t noticed it on the evening that she had had Katie and Angelina over for dinner.

She quirked an eyebrow as she looked back up at Katie’s face, and her reluctance in actually believing Katie’s statement only grew when she saw the wan smile on her lips. “Oh, I’m fine,” she said, which she was. She was fine, all fine, peachy-keen, really, never better. Though, she still reached out and took Katie’s hand. “Just tired, eh?” With a nod of her head she gestured to a seat out by the wall. “You were staring at the wall, Katie. Want to go sit down for a moment?”
