I've been spending too much time in FaceBook and the virtual worlds of Second Life and Avination, and got a tweak from Angie Reed Garner, who shares my birthdate, so figured it's time long overdue to check in here

I understand the need to declutter. I've decided I need to be prepared to go in to either a retirement apartment or some minor assisted living within the next year or so. That will mean some serious downsizing to be able to afford something in either. I currently have 2 bedrooms with over 3,000 books. - I used to have around 6,000 books. But I still need to cut back even more. I have TILE floors in this apartment and wish I could stay here, but currently I haven't had clean floors in at least a year, let alone dusting things. I really can't do this alone and feel I need to be proactive.
Jirel, it can be done. Remember that sharing your books with others will open up the world of knowledge to them, and most of the information they contain can be had on the internet. Give yourself a goal of selecting one hundred works of fiction and a hundred non-fiction books you simply can't part with, and donate/sell the others. It's hard...like ripping out your own spleen, but it can be done. I'm doing it now. Living a life of secret messiness can wear a person down, but it's amazing how much finding floor can cheer one up! LOL! I'm serious...I'm just so tired of living under the "tyrrany of things."
Thanks Angie! It's been quite an interesting ride for all of us. And I've been following you here and there, and it looks like your life and creative passion have soared. Happy for ya lady!! Hugs!

I have never been so happy to hear about someone getting an inheritance.
May the EDS diagnosis continue to validate, vanish old tapes, and lead to treatment strategies that actually work.
Thanks for making time to write here in this space.
