I live in SD and go to Needlework Shop in Pacific Beach. It is a tiny old house turned into a Yarn shop with very nice employees. They have a wide variety of yarns and you would probably enjoy that shop. There is another shop in downtown LaJolla but I have never been there. They probably have more upscale wool and prices. The other yarn shop is The Grove in downtown SD and there are others up north in Encinitas on Coast Hwy and further north. Enjoy your time in SD.

Hey Anne,

This is Blake, the one that you helped with my pony tail hat that I submitted to Knitty. Anyway, it's been awhile and the next issue comes out in 4 weeks and I haven't heard anything. I know you've submitted before, does it usually take this long to hear?

I try to forget about it so I am not always thinking and hoping there will be a "yes" email there when I get home. Hahaha. Did I tell you I moved to the Silicon Valley area? I miss Arizona, but it's nice here and we're happy. How has your summer been going?

I haven't had a pattern picked up with them yet, but I hear that it can be as close as 2 weeks. If she doesn't pick your pattern, you don't actually hear from her at all. I think I'm going to try my bag again with better photos and if she doesn't pick it again, then I'm going to try magknits.com ( ... )
