Alas, no Doctor Who squee from me this morning -- I was still downloading the episode when I went to bed last night, so my uncontrollable glee at every word out of David Tennant's mouth will have to wait until tonight. MMM TENNANT.

Last night wouldn't have been the right night for Who, anyway -- Dad and I spent the evening at the movie theater, ( Read more... )

I had the same reservations about the movie before seeing it, but the movie wasn't in the least bit offensive or overdone. Like I said, it's really intense, and it's very raw, but that's what keeps the movie from crossing any lines. Really, really well-done movie.

I'm glad to hear that it is respectful and well done. I still don't want to see it, but I'm glad that it's not sensationalist.

No, definitely not sensationalist, not in the least. I was worried about that same thing, but it was very stark and raw. I totally understand not wanting to see it, though -- like I said, it's a difficult movie to watch, but for all the right reasons, if that makes any sense.

A lot of what you said about it (real people playing themselves, respectful, that sort of stuff) I've been reading for quite a while and I've been looking forward to seeing it. Though I was hoping to see it over the weekend when the monies made were going to 9/11 charities but alas, I missed out. I'm glad you went and wrote all of this know; I'm glad to know that my assumptions were correct.

Thanks for the review.

Thank you very much for the review. I respect your observations, the clarity of your description of your reactions and the film's effect on you, and your reservations/reliefs about it. Now, I'll go. Our local repertory/art theater's going to have another 'benefit' showing. I'll go to that one.

Thanks, love.
