Oh my God, SO MUCH WORD.
And on all the rest of it too. I don't know whether I am fondest of John or of Sherlock at present - I &hearts them both VERY MUCH for different reasons. (I also &hearts Sarah, and shall be Most Saddened if she isn't a recurring character, like Miss Molly.)

I was hoping we'd get an Irene Adler as well, but if it's only three episodes math says it's going to be Moriarty next Sunday.

I am so glad you have a thing for Sherlock himself as well. The weird thing is I've never fancied that actor before, but he is just made for Sherlock! The dark curly hair, pale skin, pale eyes - and the weird thing is I didn't see it so much at first but a couple of days after seeing the first episode I woke up ridiculously attracted to him. It's a strange sort of good looking, kind of like Alice Krige, but omg is it sexy!
(It's also the first Sherlock incarnation where I've ever actually WANTED to read Sherlock/John slash. IDEK why all things considered he pulls off the asexual thing brilliantly. I think maybe that actually might be the very reason it appeals! Flirtier incarnations of Sherlock haven't really done it for me but the disinterest on this one's part just makes me go OMG DO WANT because I am a contrary Mary)

HAHAHA, that's the Rodney McKay effect! Stealth hotness! You don't know it's there until it's too late ;-P
YES, he DOES pull off asexual really well. He manages to project a whole "why waste time on sex when there are so many more interesting things?"
