Oh, lookity! It's thursday!

I spoke to my thesis advisor yesterday. On the pro side, there weren't that many people, so short line. And he smiled at me when he saw me. on the other hand, as always, no advice whatsoever was forthcoming and he named July for the dissertation. I was hoping June, though it's not feasible considering I'd have to present the thesis bound and ( Read more... )

eep! sorry about the nightmare! But enjoy London! (am sitting down today to figure out if I can swing a trip there in July myself).

Will compare notes on the SPN finale when you get back--And good luck with the diss.--the last push is always the worst, I think--

Thanks! The trouble with these short trips if figuring out what you can do without... what you'd want to do is never a problem ;-P

'Warning: read only if you like bad-fic lulz, otherwise it's just embarrassing; it has both canon mythology errors and it features a Castiel that is just... god, the author clearly needs to read the Casifesto.'
It's woobie/stupid Cas isn't? Why is he so hard to keep IC? Naive does not equal stupid!

See, this is why I don't buy tie-in novels unless they've been recced; I don't see the point of spending money on something that more often than not is just authorized bad-fic when the good stuff is free.

I think this is why fic gets such a bad rep. People think "well, amateur writing? Must be worse than professional tie-in novels!" When it really, really isn't.

Yeah, it's stupid!Cas in a most wtf way that... doesn't even make sense. Just a cheap laugh that doesn't even relate to the plot. He shows up, makes a doofus of himself, and flits away again. Bleargh.

That sound about right.

Bleargh is right.

He's this way with everyone. He's particularly nice with me though- hasn't told me to scrap anything after the fact, which he's done with others more than once. Here's to hoping (mostly that I can keep working!)

Hello!

Sorry if this is out of nowhere, but I'm having a friending-spree after the SPN season final and you're one of the people on my list of 'always posts interesting things'. No need to friend me back or anything, I just thought I'd let you know. :D

& that tie-in exceprt is just terrible. Even ignoring the blundering idiot 'Cass', it's just awkwardly written. I could hardly follow what was going on!
