That's probably not very respectful, but it's like I have a crazy old person magnet or something. Probably comes from those years I worked in a mental health facility. I must have picked up the scent ( Read more... )

Umm.... you need to de-magnetize yourself, because it sounds like you're attracting them :)

Next time you should pretend to be deaf. You can sign and everything, and then maybe they'll leave you alone!

Good luck!

seriously.

actually (my brother is not going to be happy...), i've done that before. sometimes when i want to see just how accomodating a store is and sometimes to avoid interactions. people don't always take it as the hint to leave me alone and just yell at me or pretend i'm stupid.

Seriously, some people are crazy! People would literally try and take Xander from me while we were in Spain - either that or they'd just get right up in his face. They LOVE babies over there, a little too much I'd say. Apparently, old ladies in Florida are just as crazy huh? ;)

SO ....... are you pregnant yet? ;)

old ladies are crazy everywhere. i have a bloggy friend who had a similar experience as you where a grocery store employee tried to take her daughter from her - and then told her she was a mean mommy for not letting her daughter go with a stranger!

hahaha i'll let you know when i am! :)
