One of the things I did over break was reread the Twilight series. It may have only been five months since the last time I read them, but I appreciate Edward Cullen a little more with every overly-cheesy and somewhat poorly written word. I was also reminded of my irrational hatred for Jacob Black ( Read more... )

Well, I did the tl;dr but only because I've managed to escape the books, and only know what I read from my flist.

However, I will gladly say that you should write some VM fic before classes start. I reread "Like a Rolling Stone" sometime in the last two months and just wanted to be happy again.

Then again, that's just me...

Be thankful!

I can't believe it's already been a year since I wrote LaRS. I think almost all of these unfinished ones were started around the same time, too. I'm such a slacker.

Naked Bart makes every post better. That's why he's here..

And I appreciate it. ;)

I think vampires are cooler than werewolves, but that's probably because I grew up on The Monster Squad and Dracula was the king and the wolfman was kind of helpless to him, so I've always thought vampires were just innately superior. It's stuck. But you're right, non-froth while explaining yourself is just one of the many reasons I love you.

OH MAN.

Thank you for saying everything I ever wanted to say about the books/fandom ever. To be honest, if it wasn't for the Jacob fans, I would pay no attention to him at all, they've made me hate him far more then the books ever did.

But yes! Your points are so fucking right on (the 'Jacob is selfish person, no matter what his age is' section is like MY FAVORITE EVER, I hate the notion that Jacob is some god damn martyr, nothing can be further from the truth)

I could go on, but I'd basically just be agreeing with everything and adding nothing, so bravo! and thank you. I shall be pimping this, it's about time us stupid Edward fangirls have to tl:dr essay.

ps- are you posting this around?

Thank ya!

I'm not posting it around because I wouldn't know where to post it to. Any general comms and it would feel like an attack on JBers, and I don't think it's really appropriate anywhere else. But if you want to link, link away!

WHAT IS THAT?! That pleasant humming in my heart that is making it burst with happiness? For some reason while reading this I had "That's How You Know" from the Enchanted soundtrack in the back of my mind. Very telling of the content of the books, as well as the reasons you pointed out as to why Edward is the best ever (THIS IS HOW YOU KNOW!).

Okay, so, going into this I knew I would agree with you 110% and, surprise, surprise -- that panned out! This is probably the most hilarious, and yet accurate, essay I've ever come across.

Highlightssss:
  • Jacob Black is sixteen - Out of all the excuses for Jacob Black, this one still bugs me the most. When dudski asked her about the forced kiss, Stephenie replied with something along the lines of "he's a normal teenage boy." Maybe it's because I've grown up in a household full of boys, I don't know, but there comes a certain point when you stop using "But he's only ____ years old" as an excuse. Not just for boys, but for anyone. Behavior like Jacob showed is inexcusable and it saddens me that even ( ... )

The Sam/Emily thing is SO fucked up to me. I mean, she 'got too close' when he was phasing, and he feels horrible about it after. I don't think it was SM's intention, but how could it not sound like something out of a Lifetime TV movie? Especially considering that she doesn't seem to do much other than feed all the wolf boys and fret over Sam. Yeah, fucked up.

I didn't even get into the whole Pro-Life thing, which could be an essay on its own. Hell, nobody, Jacob included, has fought harder to keep Bella safe and alive than Edward.

Oh, yes, I also fully support you writing VM fic. Like a Rolling Stone is one of my faves in existence and I would love more from you!

Aw, thanks! I'm trying to decide between continuing on with a partially started future fic or doing an alternate one-shot where Madison was just lying about sleeping with Logan. I just want to get one out there soon.

i need to stop letting my brain exist. it's worthless. *sigh* (edit: It's okay; I've known this for a long time.)

But you should write VM fic.

I don't have any problem with someone preferring Jacob over Edward. They both have their pros and cons. I just hate when Jacob's cons are glossed over and Edward's are amplified in order to try and justify the "I'm better than you" claims.

You aren't like that!

I'm trying with the fic. If I don't get it done soon, I don't know if I'll be able to do it.

I guess you're right. But my brain is still useless. It does this to me on purpose, to TORTURE ME. Ugh.

And, I am only now writing One Tree Hill fanfic ideas I had, like, two and a half years ago. You can't put time limits on these things.
