My Top Thirteen TV Girlfriends

Nov 30, 2010 19:04

Okay, so I could not whittle down to less than 13, and even then it was only possible if I limited myself to TV characters. Movies will have to come later. :) Enjoy! (Stolen from the sublime annienau08 )

Warning: More sheer awesome than most mere mortals can handle... (Image heavy) )

I love your reasoning and your pictures. GAH. YES to all of the ones I know, and I'm sure that the answer is also yes on the rest. :-D

Ooooh, excellent list! Especially with B'Elanna and Helen and CJ and . . . yeah. :)

And I'm really, really close to putting "Shit's about to get real" on my cubicle wall. Maybe not work appropriate, but so not caring. Because it's Sam Carter!

There's a reason my computer wallpaper the last few days has been the "That's incredible! How'd you do that? SCIENCE!" Sam poster.

(Annerb, excellent list...well...except I have no idea what show half of them are on, but they all sound awesome. And, man, I remember back in the first few seasons of Voyager when often B'Elanna was what kept me watching the show)

Whoops! I added the shows. I didn't even think about that. Lol.

I am so nostalgic for B'Elanna now. Though I am not certain Voyager is one of those shows that will stand up to a rewatch. Plus, I'm not sure Star Trek is on hulu. Hmmm.

To quote another couple of posters I saw on Tumblr: Stay calm and let Carter handle it."
And the companion: "Stay calm and try science!"

ANNIE. Well, you know how I feel about her.

But Camille! Yay! I love her so much. The way she's kind of the voice of reason at the Smithsonian, and yet is clearly unflappable. Her people are the weirdest folk ever, and while she has to regularly use sarcasm as a way of keeping them in line, she never freaks out. She just rolls her eyes and then gets on with things, and you know she loves her people and will do anything for them.

It's so amazing, because her character really started at such a disadvantage on the show, being paired with Booth. She was set up to lose. But somehow they transformed the character into Grade A Awesome.

I agree so much with this damn comment. At first, I hate hate HATED her, but she became so much more awesome as time went on. In the end (before I stopped watching this season) I used to grin every time she would appear onscreen, or just about, because she never failed to send me into at least one or two giggle fits.

Oh, Annie. :)

Yes, I do remember having my issues with Cam in the beginning (Did she really have to bee Booth's ex? Blerg.), but now, man, did she evolve well. She's the bright light of that show.

I love list-related posts because then I can go through and be mildly obnoxious by commenting on almost every single thing, yet feel completely justified doing it. So sorry in advance ;).

Star Trek Voyager...is on my list of epic important fandom-related things to watch...eventually. I feel like growing up without tv channels other than ABC cut me off from too much of the important pop culture of my generation to ever catch up on ;_;.

Zoe Washbourne is just a rock. She's the lady I'd model myself after in hard times. And hot. Gina Torres was one half of the reason I watched Standoff and was seriously upset when it got cancelled/didn't get renewed!

I used to hate on Fringe as being an X-Files knockoff with the FBI and the strange phenomena, but then last week I was over at a friend's house and they were watching the most recent episode. And even though I had absolutely no idea what was going on (except for something vague about alternate universes I picked up sitting through the SDCC panel this past summer), I might be going back to ( ... )

No need to ever apologize for love of female characters! Not in this journal! :)
