My Top Thirteen TV Girlfriends

Nov 30, 2010 19:04

Okay, so I could not whittle down to less than 13, and even then it was only possible if I limited myself to TV characters. Movies will have to come later. :) Enjoy! (Stolen from the sublime annienau08 )

Warning: More sheer awesome than most mere mortals can handle... (Image heavy) )

I love list-related posts because then I can go through and be mildly obnoxious by commenting on almost every single thing, yet feel completely justified doing it. So sorry in advance ;).

Star Trek Voyager...is on my list of epic important fandom-related things to watch...eventually. I feel like growing up without tv channels other than ABC cut me off from too much of the important pop culture of my generation to ever catch up on ;_;.

Zoe Washbourne is just a rock. She's the lady I'd model myself after in hard times. And hot. Gina Torres was one half of the reason I watched Standoff and was seriously upset when it got cancelled/didn't get renewed!

I used to hate on Fringe as being an X-Files knockoff with the FBI and the strange phenomena, but then last week I was over at a friend's house and they were watching the most recent episode. And even though I had absolutely no idea what was going on (except for something vague about alternate universes I picked up sitting through the SDCC panel this past summer), I might be going back to that friend's house to watch Fringe again this week. I just wanted so badly for what happened at the end of it to all work out. And thus concludes my Fringe story.

Helen. Fucking. Magnus. is possibly the most BAMFHBIC I have ever encountered on tv. Ever. I love her sfm. And I love how completely complex/deep/layered/utterly British to the core she is, because there is as much to understand about her as there are years to her life, and I just love how she's got so much dimension, and is witty and brilliant and cheeky and self-assured even when she isn't (does that make sense?). And I love that she wears the most ginormous stiletto heels I have ever seen on tv and makes it look absolutely effortless and graceful. And how she runs in heels, and is always effortlessly put together and elegant even when she's rocking tight leather trousers, and goddamn I could write an essay on her. And I love her relationship with Druitt, and how painfully adult it all is. But I'll shut up now. I JUST LOVE HER.

I didn't get into Leverage until this past summer at the SDCC panel, but from what I've seen so far (without having instant streaming available) Parker is probably my favorite singular character of Leverage. I just...think she's so adorable it hurts.

Goddamn that reminds me I need to watch The Office! Yet another to add to my list of shows, hehe.

SAM CARTER. She had me from "reproductive organs are on the inside". And I was rooting for her ever since. I just kind of progressively fell in love with her more and more as the seasons went on. And now that I'm finally on 10 (and really, what's up with the wavy hair? Carter would not spend that much time styling her hair every morning, dearest hair and makeup department), I'm so glad she moved on to Atlantis (even if she allegedly got frakked over characterization-wise), because I'm just nowhere near ready to let this character go. And also because distressingly enough I watched Pegasus Project and I fear that Rodney/Sam may have usurped Sam/Jack as my [current!] primary ship (I KNOW, BLASPHEMY ;_;). I need RDA to show up and put me back on the correct path D:. Or alternately find some new good fic to read. Or both at once, alas.

No need to ever apologize for love of female characters! Not in this journal! :)
