Anxiety.
Yesterday morning, I got to my work truck and realized it had been broken into. That's kind of a contradiction because in all likelihood, I'd left it unlocked. I'd carried in a lot of things the evening before and must have neglected to lock it. They stole a small sum of money but they also stole my entire work backpack. Beginning to feel hope and inspiration.
After weeks of feeling like I was going to fail at this new change, I'm finally beginning to glimpse a little hope. It's not the weight loss. It's my behavior. I was very controlled this week. Stray cat.
A cat turned up at my home. I cannot have another animal to care for. I can't afford the veterinary care and the cat is quite sick. It has mucus bubbling from it's nose and a raspy sound when it breathes. It's probably never been vaccinated ( Read more... ) -
Treasure hunting.
This past weekend, Paul and I made a day trip to New Orleans. We were trolling junk shops. I found two ink drawings, both by the same artist, that I loved. They were signed. One was ten dollars and one was sixteen. The owner gave them both to me for twenty. I looked the artist up when I got home. They're worth a hundred a piece ( Read more... ) -
Strong bouts of depression.
They warned us that the surgery would cause some pretty intense hormonal changes. I'm not sure how long that goes on or whether I can attribute these bouts of depression to it or not. But I've been having terrible depression at times. Other times, I'm ok ( Read more... ) -
First day back at work.
I'm nervous. Don't know why. Except that one of our veteran fieldmen has retired and now we're left with the new guy whom I'm still on the fence about whether or not I like him.
