I kinda wanted to say something about point #1, but I realized it would probably not be well received.
So instead I'll give you some caution about dachshunds - they can be somewhat high strung and quick to growling/territorial. They also like to dig/burrow because that's what they were bred to do...but it can be destructive if not monitored. I don't think a fenced yard will be an issue (it'd probably burrow under anyway), but make sure to ask if the dog's house trained or paper trained. I'd also ask detailed questions about why he's giving the dog up and maybe see about getting a vet report.
Any time someone gives up a pet after so long and there isn't an allergy/move to foreign country involved, my little radar flags go up.
1. I don't know how I feel about it and I guess the pessimist in me is looking to see what sort of real changes will result. Our local paper was interviewing area 10th graders about their reactions, which was interesting.
3. I agree about looking genuinely happy. Also, I'm hoping that her dress will lead to more modest wedding dresses becoming popular. lol
4. I hope things work out.
6. Its like this Donald Trump thing is just one big publicity stunt. I just can't begin to take him seriously.
1. JP and I have been discussing this non-stop. I am interested in what people who lost loved ones on 9/11 think of this. You could argue that it's just one person and the cost of killing him is too high in terms of possible retribution. But he's a symbol and I think the fact that they finally found and killed him is good. Everyone at work has been talking about stockpiling water, food, and ammunition (I live in Texas) but if that's the way it's going to be, I would almost rather not live through an attack if all that welcomed me was the breakdown of civilization. :/ [/Debbie Downer]
3. Yes! Royal wedding! I watched a two hour recap/best-of show that night and it covered all the good stuff. Loved the dress and the pomp and tradition and the WWII bombers flying overhead. &hearts
People in Texas are insane! The last time a hurricane hit our coast, San Antonio stores (150 miles inland, I might add) were WIPED OUT. Everyone was stockpiling water, food, flashlights, etc. Not an optimistic lot.

As for #1, I figured we'd probably disagree on a lot of it. I'm glad we can be friends for the things we do agree on (HP, anyone?:)

Lol, yes, though I've left HP behind awhile ago, we'll always agree on pumpkins.
Hope it all works out with the dog!
