I really do need to update more often than every 10 days...
1. The Osama bin Laden story is, of course, all over everywhere right now. While I can't revel in anyone's death, I'm not unhappy about it. Given the amount of misery he caused, I think the world is a better place without him in it. Congratulations to the U.S. intelligence community for finding him, President Obama for ordering the raid, and the Navy SEALS for carrying out the mission the way they did. I especially appreciate that the president chose a "surgical strike" over bombing the compound. I'm currently reading Your Government Failed You: Breaking the Cycle of National Security Disasters (2008) by Richard A. Clarke. and I really hope that someone interviews him about this event.

3. The Royal Wedding was gorgeous. I didn't watch the ceremony as it happened but did see a lot of it over the weekend on CNN (Piers Morgan last night). Princess Catherine (I miss calling her Kate) wore such a beautiful gown, and Prince William was very dashing in his uniform. They seem genuinely in love (unlike his parents...) and I wish them a wonderful future.
4. Kiddo is currently begging to get a dog, specifically a 6-year-old dachshund that's available on Craigslist. Not sure why the current owner needs/wants to rehome the little guy. I'm convinceable on this, but I don't know what my DH will think of the idea. The good news is that the owner's asking price is very reasonable ($50!). Our yard isn't fenced but maybe that won't be an impediment? Kiddo has always wanted a dog but the right one has never seemed to come along (not too big, not too expensive, not too energetic, etc...) So... who knows...
5. I need to remember to go upstairs in 20 minutes to watch SANCTUARY. I really don't know about SyFy these days... I loved SyFy Friday but they've apparently decided to drive away a lot of viewers by having an evening of fake wrestling and urban legends. UGH.
6. Last but not least? White House correspondents dinner on April 30th?? Oh yeah. Donald Trump? PWND.
